Haunting In Venice. A Short Story

Venice was always his favorite city. He loved the canals, the bridges, the architecture, and the history. He had visited it many times before, but this time was different. He had inherited an old mansion from his distant uncle, who had died under mysterious circumstances. He decided to spend a few weeks there, hoping to find some clues about his uncle's life and death.

The mansion was located on a secluded island, away from the tourist crowds. It was a huge and imposing building, with a Gothic style and a dark atmosphere. He felt a chill as he entered the main hall, where a portrait of his uncle hung on the wall. He looked stern and cold, with piercing eyes that seemed to follow him.

He explored the mansion, finding many rooms filled with antique furniture, paintings, books, and curiosities. He also found a secret passage that led to a basement, where he discovered a library of occult books and a ritual circle drawn on the floor. He felt a strange attraction to the books and decided to read some of them.

He learned that his uncle was a practitioner of dark magic, who had made a pact with a powerful entity in exchange for knowledge and power. He also learned that the entity demanded a sacrifice every year, on the night of Halloween. If the sacrifice was not made, the entity would unleash its wrath on the mansion and its inhabitants.

He realized that he had arrived on the eve of Halloween, and that he was the only living person in the mansion. He felt a sudden fear and decided to leave as soon as possible. He packed his bags and ran to the door, but it was locked. He tried to open it, but it was useless. He heard a voice in his head, saying:

"Welcome to my mansion, nephew. I have been waiting for you. You are the perfect sacrifice for my master. Tonight, you will join me in the realm of the dead."

He screamed in terror, as he felt a cold hand grab his shoulder from behind.
