Americas Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in its “Fourth National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals” which is the most comprehensive assessment to date of the exposure of the U.S. population to chemicals in the environment.The CDC has measured 212 chemicals in people’s blood or urine. These chemicals are in the following groups:
- acrylamide and glycidamide adducts
- arsenic species and metabolites
- environmental phenols, including bisphenol A and triclosan
- perchlorate
- perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs)
- polybrominated diphenylethers (PBDEs)
- volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
- plus some additions to chemical groups previously measured.
